Santa Joe Valent has been part of the world’s oldest (1937) Santa Claus School nearly his entire life. Since 1987, his father Tom Valent has been the dean of Santas at the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School.

Growing up in Michigan with pet reindeer and sleighs at his home, a dean of Santa’s as a father, and a mother named Holly, Joe was destined to become Santa Claus. During his childhood he helped maintain and remodel the local Santa House in Midland, Michigan. Today, Joe still flies up north to work his hometown’s Santa House and parade, where children visit from all over the state of Michigan.

Joe started the non-profit, Saint Nicholas Charities — that serves baby supplies to low-income pregnant women and families with young children in his Dallas-Fort Worth area. St. Nicholas Charities helps bring comfort and ease for mothers facing economic hardship. Joe believes strongly in Jesus’s corporal works of mercy that we are asked to aid our neighbor in need though charitable actions.

A graduate from Miami University in political science, a career in politics, and now a director of a small non-profit — Joe, his wife, and three young children live in Lucas, Texas staying busy with youth sports, coaching, and bringing joy to children during the Christmas season.
